Good Tidings of Comfort and Joy

That's me and my oldest, Kari. Or, as I like to call her, Punkinhead. She's a great kid. A sometimes-overly-sensitive bookworm that has a certain panache about her.

Tonight was our bi-weekly Mama and Me night and tonight's choice was to visit Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Georgia. I had my reservations about the event. I mean, c'mon, an amusement park...operational...in December...in GEORGIA! Really??? But it was FANTASTIC!!!

We had a great time wondering around the park, riding rides and looking at lights. Most importantly, we were together. This is my child that lives out of town with her father, so I don't get to see her often and now that I'm in a serious relationship, she's feeling the pressure of having to share me with yet one more person, other than her little brother.

So in order to make the adjustment easier, I've tried very hard to carve out time for "just us." No boyfriend, no little brother. It's important that she know that she's still my baby and I will always put her first.

So here's to my oldest baby, Kari Elise! May she always be bright and beautiful.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
